Prof. Mkumbukwa M.A.Mtambo ,
Prof. Mkumbukwa Madundo A. Mtambo is the Director General of the Tanzania Industrial Research and Development Organization (TIRDO) who completed his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro, Tanzania in 1987 and his Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine (Ph.D) in 1992 at the University of Glasgow, Glasgow, United Kingdom.
Before joining TIRDO in December 2013, Prof. Mtambo had served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor responsible for Academics, Research and Innovations at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Arusha, Tanzania. Prof. Mtambo also served as the Deputy Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Head of Department of Veterinary Medicine and Public Health and Clinician In-Charge at the Sokoine University of Agriculture between 1992 and 2013.
During his doctorate studies, Prof. Mtambo investigated on the epidemiology of Cryptosporidium infection in cats, a zoonotic parasite causing infections in animals and humans in particular those with the Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Prof. Mtambo has been involved in researches on zoonotic water-borne protozoal parasites, other animal diseases of public health significance, wildlife diseases, poultry diseases and Medicinal plants. Prof. Mtambo has been involved in consultancies on livestock-wildlife interactions, transboundary animal diseases and poultry diseases.
Prof. Mtambo has been involved in a number of research projects at the Sokoine University of Agriculture serving as the project leader or a researcher. Prof. Mtambo led a DANIDA-ENRECA research project which involved scientists from Denmark, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Malawi investigating on local chicken health and productivity in East Africa. Prof. Mtambo is currently involved in the efficacy Medicinal plants
Prof. Mtambo has been involved in supervision and examination of a number of Master and Ph.D. students at the Sokoine University of Agriculture, University of Dar es Salaam, University of Nairobi, Kenya, Makerere University and the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology, Arusha, Tanzania. Prof. Mtambo has also served as a visiting lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe in 1995. Prof. Mtambo has published over 80 papers in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings and reviewed a book on Cryptosporidium infection.
Emilian Bundala ,
Emilian Bundala is the Director of Human Resource and Administration of the Tanzania Industrial Research and Development Organization (TIRDO) who completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and his Masters of Science degree in Human Resource Management at the Mzumbe University, Tanzania.
Emilian has a wealth of hands on experience in the Human Resource Management, Administration and Corporate Management industry spanning twenty one years to date, gained through work experiences serving in various Organizations, local and international, Governmental and Non-governmental.
Before joining TIRDO, Emilian was the Director of Human Resources and Administration for The Benjamin William Mkapa Foundation, a Tanzanian Non Governmental Organization founded by his excellence Mr. Benjamin William Mkapa, the former President of Tanzania. Previously, Emilian worked as the Human Resources Manager for the John Snow Inc. (JSI), an American Multi National Technical firm that supported the Ministry of Health in the Supply Chain Management and Logistical Management of health related products and services. Prior to that, Emilian was the National Administration Manager for Plan International, an International Non Governmental Organization specialized in community health, learning, water and sanitation, microfinance, livelihood and building relationships. Earlier to that, Emilian started his career in the Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited (TTCL) where he rose from the first employment post of Regional Head of Human Resources and Administration to the position of Regional Corporate Services Manager (RCORM) responsible for Human Resource Management, Revenue Assurance, Procurement and Financial Services.
Emilian‚s experiences include Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM), International Human Resource Management, Human Resource Planning, Recruitment and Selection, Human Resource Training and Development, Industrial Relations, Welfare,Performance Optimization and Rewards Management, Human Resource Administration, Labour Laws, Organization Development and Change Management, Project Management, Procurement, Estates Management, Fleet Management, Corporate Management, Organizational Leadership, Consensus Building and Teaming and Multi ‚ Site Operations.
Emilian has been involved in a number of Consultancy assignments for both Local and International Organizations.
Dr.Anselm P. Moshi ,
Dr. Anselm Moshi is a principal research scientists and acting director of industrial research at Tanzania Industrial research and development organization. Dr. Anselm P. Moshi is widely trained on issues related to industrial technologies and processing especially in food technology and biotechnology, food safety and quality control supply chain management, and has undertaken various consultancies, research and technology transfer in the agro-sector and has accumulate vast knowledge and experience vital in provide technical industrial support for the agroindustry and related industries.
Dr. Anselm Has published many papers in internationally renowned Journals. Dr. Anselm has worked in the Agro-sector in Tanzania for more than 12 years working with the agroindustry and all value chain actors including trade officers, processors, exporter extension officers, Agriculturalists, agro inputs suppliers and processors across all regions of Tanzania. Dr. Anselm has immense research experience including research coordination, design, management, data collection and analysis and scientific write ups.
Dr. Lugano Wilson is the Director of Engineering Development (DED) and Head, Energy Technologies Division with Tanzania Industrial Research and Development Organization (TIRDO). While with TIRDO in a period of over 20 years, he has supervised and implemented energy research projects; and consultancy projects in the field of energy management (industrial, commercial centres, and households), renewable energy technologies and environmental management. He holds a degree of Licentiate of Philosophy in Engineering (Furnace Technology) from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm Sweden and a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Energy Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam Tanzania where he was also awarded a Masters degree (Mechanical Engineering). He has attended various professional trainings. As a result of his professional work, Dr. Lugano has produced over 60 papers and technical writings.
